We will focus on using found materials to express concepts related to knowledge formation and the ways that we come to know ourselves and society. Here, you will construct an archive, a collection, a repository, a mausoleum, etc. that reorganizes historical knowledge in a new and unprecedented way. Your archive can be entirely fictional, speculative, or can unveil certain histories that have remained hidden from the dominant historical order (i.e. histories that disclose the significance of traditionally marginalized peoples) in an ironic way.
For this assignment, I wanted to craft something that not only brought a sense of nostalgia but also collided with different generations. I used Midjourney to create different technologies from different time periods, from the modern era to the walkingman era. Ultimately, creating a collaboration of two devices to make one!
