Game Concept: The game in its simplest form is a text-based interactive game. You get two options that can lead to various endings. Paired with a basic snake game. The player purposefully shares and creates misinformation/disinformation to bring in interaction and engagement for the company. The game portrays a fun playthrough however trying to convey the importance of what could happen when false information is shared.
Objective: To create a persuasive game. Students will gain experience working with non-linear narrative and interaction design.
Culture Jamming: Culture Jamming is a way to bring a topic to light even if people are already aware of it. My topic about misinformation is something people already know of. The dangers of it, the effects it could have on people all over the world and in your very backyard.
However, with people still knowing the harsh truth about false information, we unfortunately probably see it more times than we see relatable information. My game is centered just around that; sharing misleading and untrue information to get people’s attention and for them to engage. The sad truth of the matter is that this kind of information spreads so fast because people share it, and those people share it, and the cycle just continues.
